Viewing actions taken in a case
Use Timeline and Audit Trail to see which actions have been taken in a case and when.
Open a case first. Timeline gives you a quick activity view. Audit Trail gives you a detailed compliance log.
See recent case activity in Timeline
Go to the case you want to review.
Click Open Timeline near the top of the case, next to Open Chat.
Review the activity list in reverse chronological order.
Timeline shows document uploads, file deletions, chat messages, draft creation, simulation runs, and team member actions. Use it when you want a quick view of what happened in the matter.
If you need a walkthrough, see Using the Timeline Feature.
See the full action log in Audit Trail
Go to the same case.
Open the left sidebar menu.
Select Audit Trail.
Audit Trail records the user, action taken, affected resource, IP address, and timestamp. Use it for compliance checks, security reviews, or when you need a more complete record than Timeline.
For more detail, see Working with the Audit Trail.
Start with Timeline if you want to understand case history quickly. Use Audit Trail if you need a precise and immutable record.
