Viewing actions taken in a case
The audit log records every action taken in a case: who did what, to which document or draft, and when. The timeline is a different view, the chronology of the matter itself.
Open a case first. The audit log gives you a detailed compliance record. The timeline gives you the story of the matter.

Go to the case you want to review.
Open the left sidebar menu.
Select Audit Trail. The page it opens is titled Audit log.
Each entry gives the time, the category, the event, the user who performed it, and the resource it touched. Filter by category to narrow the list to documents, messages, drafts, sharing, integrations, reminders and the rest, or search the events by name.
Entries cannot be edited or deleted, and they are kept for ten years. Use the audit log for compliance checks and security reviews.
For more detail, see Working with the audit log.

Go to the same case.
Click Open Timeline at the top of the left sidebar, or use the timeline icon on the case card from the dashboard.
Read the events from oldest to newest.
Timeline holds events in the matter itself, such as hearings, filings, deadlines and correspondence, extracted from your documents. It does not record what people did in Andri.
If you need a walkthrough, see Using the Timeline feature.
