Changing track change colors in Word
By default, Word assigns a different color to each author's track changes. If you continue editing a document from Andri in Word, your new changes may appear in a different color. You can change this behavior in Word's settings.
Set all track changes to one color
Open the document in Word
Go to Review → Tracking → Advanced Options (click the small arrow in the bottom-right corner of the Tracking group)
Under "Markup", find the dropdown menus for "Insertions" and "Deletions"
Change both from "By author" to a specific color (e.g., Red or Green)
Click OK
All track changes—including those from Andri and your own edits—will now appear in the same color.
This setting applies only to the current document. You'll need to adjust it for each new document, or save it as a template.
Why track changes show different colors
Word uses different colors to distinguish between authors. When you download a document from Andri and continue editing:
If Andri's author name matches your Word username exactly, all changes appear in the same color
If the names differ, Word treats them as separate authors and uses different colors
To keep the same author name, see Setting your author name for track changes.
Setting track changes to a single color can make documents easier to review, especially when sharing with clients who don't need to see which edits came from which author.
