Restrictions: control what Andri can access across your firm
Restrictions is where an administrator keeps specific senders, whole domains, or older correspondence out of Andri's reach across every connected mailbox in the firm. Rules set there apply to every case. A lawyer can add stricter rules to their own case, but never loosen the firm's.
Only administrators can open the page. Members and support users who click Restrictions see a notice instead.
Set a firm-wide rule
The page has one section, Mail and calendar, with two controls. You can use either or both, and they are saved together.
Go to Company and click Restrictions in the sidebar.
Under Blocked addresses and domains, type an address such as
[email protected]to block one person, or a domain such as@client.comto block everyone there. Press Enter, space or comma after each one. You can also paste a whole list at once.Under Earliest date Andri may read, pick a date if you want to put a floor under how far back Andri may go. Anything dated before it is out of reach; anything on or after it is visible. The date is applied in UTC.
Click Save.
A bare domain is stored with an @ in front, so typing client.com is kept as @client.com. To take an entry off the list, click the cross on it and save again.
Clear all removes the firm's entire policy immediately, with no confirmation step. After that, nothing is restricted until you set new rules.
See when the policy last changed
Once a policy has been saved at least once, the page shows a Last updated date. It is a link into the company audit log, which is where you find who made the change and what it was. The page itself shows the date only.
Stricter rules for a single case
A firm-wide rule is a floor, not a ceiling. The lawyer who owns a case can exclude more from that case, and the firm's rules still apply on top.
Open the case and go to its knowledge base.
Open the integrations panel and click the settings icon next to the connected mailbox.
In Exclude emails from AI access, choose People to block addresses and domains, or Date cutoff to set an earliest date.
Click Save.
A case uses one mode at a time. Saving in People mode clears any date cutoff on that case, and saving in Date cutoff mode clears the blocked list. This is the one place where the two behave differently from the firm-wide page, which keeps both.
In People mode, an email or calendar event is dropped whenever a blocked address appears anywhere on it, including cc, bcc, organiser and attendees, and a whole conversation is dropped if any message in it is blocked. In Date cutoff mode, items dated before the cutoff are dropped, and a calendar event is judged by its start time.
Only the case owner can change this. Other people with access to the case cannot.
What this does and does not cover
Restrictions govern the mailboxes and calendars your firm has connected to Andri. They decide what Andri may read from those accounts, and they apply to every case in the firm. They do not remove documents already uploaded to a knowledge base, and they are separate from the per-case list of senders allowed to email files in. For how mailbox and calendar access is granted in the first place, see Connect Google Workspace, Gmail, Microsoft 365, and Outlook.
